What are your options?

To be eligible for Medicaid, Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+), the Kaiser Permanente Colorado Bridge Program and Kaiser Permanente for Individuals and Families (KPIF) you must meet certain eligibility requirements.

* Based on family size and income, eligibility may vary.

Children under 19 years and pregnant woman may be eligible for Presumptive Eligibility (PE). PE offers temporary medical coverage for children and pregnant woman that have applied for Medicaid or CHP+ and appear to be eligible. To learn more about PE or to apply call 303-873-4404 M-F 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and a Family Health Coordinator will assist you.

Medicaid

  • Low-income Coloradans that qualify.
  • Family size and household income help to determine if you qualify.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident for at least 5 years. (Refugees and asylees are examples of exemptions.)
  • Must be a Colorado resident.

Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+)

  • Income eligible children age 18 and under, pregnant women age 19 and over and NOT eligible for Medicaid.
  • Family size and household income help to determine if you qualify.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident for at least 5 years. (Refugees and asylees are examples of exemptions.)
  • Must be a Colorado resident.
  • Does not have other health insurance.

Colorado Bridge

  • Low-income applicants under the age of 35 years.
  • Family size and household income help to determine if you qualify. To see a Colorado Bridge income eligibility chart, click here.
  • Must live within the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado service area based on county zip code, which includes Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Custer, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Elbert, Fremont, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Morgan, Park, Pueblo, Teller and Weld counities.
  • Cannot have access to other coverage options such as, but not limited to the following:
    - Employer-sponsored health plan
    - Medicaid/CHP+
    - Federal financial assistance through the marketplace
    - Medicare
     

Kaiser Permanente for Individuals and Families (KPIF)

  • Applicants between the ages of 0 and 64. Persons eligible for Medicare are not eligible for individual and family plans.
  • Rates are based on family size and health status.
  • Must be eligible under Colorado state law to join an individual health plan.
  • Must live within Kaiser Permanente Denver/Metro service area.
